JAPEN's Pentarama Merdeka@HOHO Returns With Fresh Features

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- The Pentarama Merdeka@HOHO programme organised by the Information Department (JAPEN) is back with refreshed content and comprehensive improvements to reignite patriotic spirit in conjunction with the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

More than just entertainment, this year’s programme also incorporates educational elements and fosters patriotism through a Malaysia-themed quiz and awareness sessions on National Day publicity.

JAPEN senior director (Management) Naim Fahmi Ahmad Tajuddin said a major improvement this year is the transition from a one-off event to a weekly programme held every Saturday throughout August.

“This effort is part of a publicity plan coordinated by JAPEN as chair of the Media and Publicity Committee for the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 celebrations under the Ministry of Communications.

“As chair, JAPEN is responsible for coordinating all promotional and publicity activities,” he told Bernama during the programme here tonight.

Today’s programme passed through Kuala Lumpur Tower, Sungei Wang Plaza and the Pavilion shopping area.

He said the initiative is a strategic collaboration between JAPEN and Elang Wah Sdn Bhd, the operator of the iconic KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) service, which uses open-top double-decker buses well known among both local and international tourists.

“This programme allows JAPEN to engage more closely with the public in delivering messages of patriotism and promoting key events such as the National Day parade, which will take place on Aug 31 at Dataran Putrajaya,” he said.

He added that as a symbolic gesture, the Pentarama Merdeka@HOHO will also head to Putrajaya on the eve of National Day.
